The next America the Beautiful Quarter product is coming soon. The United States Mint announced it will debut the Vicksburg National Military Park Quarter Three-Coin Set on Tuesday, October 18, 2011, at noon Eastern Time. Like similar sets, its price will be $14.95.
U.S. Mint image of the Vicksburg National Military Park Quarter Three-Coin SetThe three Vicksburg Quarters that are packaged on a durable plastic card include a proof 2011-S, an uncirculated 2011-P, and an uncirculated 2011-D. In other words, one coin from each of the three United States Mint facilities that produce the coins -- San Francisco, Philadelphia and Denver.
On the back of the card is a brief description of Vicksburg National Military Park in Mississippi and the quarter's design, as well as a Certificate of Authenticity.
The 2011 Vicksburg quarter reverse was designed by Thomas Cleveland and sculpted by Joseph Menna. The image depicts the U.S.S. Cairo, a Union Navy warship of the Civil War, on the Yazoo River as it would have appeared during service. Inscriptions include VICKSBURG, MISSISSIPPI, 2011 and E PLURIBUS UNUM.

The Vicksburg National Military Park Quarter was released on August 29 and the US Mint began offering them in bags and rolls that afternoon. The U.S. Mint and the National Park Service hosted the quarter launch ceremony on August 30 at the U.S.S. Cairo Museum in the park, in Vicksburg, Mississippi.
As the fourth issue this year, the Vicksburg Three-Coin Set is competing with the Gettysburg National Military Park Quarter Three-Coin Set, Glacier National Park Quarter Three-Coin Set, and Olympic National Park Quarter Three-Coin Set. There are also sets from last year available that honor Hot Springs National Park, Yellowstone National Park, Yosemite National Park, Grand Canyon National Park, and Mount Hood National Forest.
